156. How to Heal in a Broken World

🎧 New Episode of Grounded Spirits 🌿🌌

What if healing isn’t something we do alone but something we do together through connection?

In this heart-centered episode of Grounded Spirits, we explore connection as the medicine for a fragmented world.

We move through the many layers of connection:
🌀 to Self — through emotion, shadow, and truth
🌍 to Society — through justice, compassion, and belonging
🌿 to Nature — through rhythm, reverence, and reciprocity
✨ to Divinity — through surrender, spirit, and sacredness
🧬 to Family & Lineage — through memory, meaning, and repair
🤝 to The Other — through presence, empathy, and community

Together, we ask: What breaks our connection and what rebuilds it?

This is a call to reweave the web—one thread of care, courage, and consciousness at a time.

WATCH THE EPISODE

THE BREAKDOWN OF MY WEEK

WEDNESDAY—JULY 9TH

  • Come with me to a Concert in the Park
  • Learn about the importance of supporting community and nature to heal

THURSDAY—JULY 10TH

  • Full Moon in Capricorn
    • I talk about the astrology of the day, how it affected me, and how it may have affected you too
    • I ended my short T-break. Remember I’m only consuming on New and Full Moons.
      • Watch/Listen to last week’s episode for a full explanation why I’m doing this
    • I forgot to mention on the episode how I smoke. I first set an intention as I grind the flower.
    • This time I asked for unity of all the different parts of myself.
      • I saw a post that said to never ask for an ego death because that is a form of self-abuse as it is not rooted in self-love. Love will never ask for the death of anything.
    • I name a few of the parts I want to unite as each step (i.e. grinding, packing the bowl, adding the water, lighting the match, and finally smoking).
      • Ex. 1. the unity of my right and left sides (after smoking the answer came—start using my left hand for basic things, such as: brushing my teeth, drinking water, eating, throwing/kicking the ball when playing with my dogs.
      • Ex. 2. the unity of my dark and light side—I started appreciating my dark side and started giving it unconditional love that I had never really experienced. This made it easier to rest and relax as I mentioned on the episode.
      • Ex. 3. the unity of my family—coincidentally each of my sister’s called me this week.
    • RE: Lighting the Match
      • I actually talk to the flame. I ask for its name. I ask if it has any messages for me. I then asked it to help me unify myself. Once she agreed, I lit the bowl and inhaled.
  • Watch me paint to reconnect with my soul as a form of healing and learn how inexpensive it is for you to do it too!
    • I look kind of angry but I was actually having a great time. I guess my happy face is still coming in lol.
  • Catch Mandi (my German Shepherd) act like a bunny popping up all over as I paint

FRIDAY—JULY 11TH

  • Watch magic unfold before your very eyes where I had not one, not two, but three magical synchronicities orchestrated by the universe!!
    • It made me realize that though the world may appear to be in shambles, we are here for a reason and through connecting to divinity, ourselves, and others, is how we heal
  • I share a fun tip to connect to your creativity while connecting to nature

SATURDAY—JULY 12TH

  • Join me at the Philosophical Research Society (PRS) where I participate in Kirtan with Puja
    • Kirtan is a devotional chanting practice, often performed in a call-and-response style, originating from India and rooted in Hindu traditions, particularly Bhakti Yoga.
    • It involves singing sacred mantras, often accompanied by music, and is considered a way to connect with the divine, promote inner peace, and foster a sense of belonging.
      • It was really healing in my own body, in the community, and it felt like our voices coming together may have even helped heal the world even if just a little.
  • The PRS Library is open from 12-6pm on Thursdays and Fridays. It’s free! You have access to almost all the books!
    • Also, consider becoming a member. I became one earlier this year and it has been well worth it! It pays for itself!

SUNDAY—JULY 13TH

  • Come with me on a cruise around Balboa Island
    • I share the importance of water and how it connects us
    • I also talk about the importance of connecting with family
    • Lastly, I give my take on alcohol’s reputation
  • I mention the Core Domains of Connection
    • Here are the full sixteen:
      • Soul – Archetypes, passion, expression, love
      • Mind – Awareness, beliefs, imagination, intellect
      • Body – Sensation, health, somatics, cycles, physical needs
      • Spirit – Essence, intuition, higher self
      • Nature – Earth, plants, elements, ecosystems, rhythms
      • Others – Intimacy, belonging, community, relationships
      • The Divine – Source, mystery, spirituality, sacredness
      • Time & Story – Past wounds & wisdom, present presence, future vision
      • Creativity – Art, voice, truth, sexuality, joy
      • Work & Purpose – Vocation, service, mission, contribution
      • Ancestry & Lineage – Bloodlines, karmic threads, cultural inheritance
      • Dreams & Subconscious – Dreamtime, symbols, altered states, inner landscapes
      • Rest & Integration – Stillness, reflection, silence, recovery, liminal space
      • Play & Wonder – Curiosity, humor, pleasure, enchantment
      • Systems & Society – Justice, culture, belonging in the world, collective healing
      • Self – Identity, emotions, shadow, values, personal healing
    • They are part of the Ornelian Bridge (Framework), one of my upcoming books

MONDAY—JULY 14TH

  • I took the streets from Pasadena to the Holocaust Museum.
    • I loved soaking up the LA energy, spreading my love for it and the land that we’re on, and being grateful for the original stewards of the land (the Tongva people).
    • I saw a great quote that I wasn’t able to get a good shot to add to the podcast.
      • Here it is: “Create something every day and excuses don’t count”
  • I went to the Holocaust Museum.
    • I learned how to understand the reasons why people do such horrible things and instead of demonizing them to offer empathy
      • NO ONE IS BORN EVIL. People do evil things because they feel powerless and ostracized.
    • I learned that we can’t change people or systems individually but we can offer solutions and one-on-one support that DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

TUESDAY—JULY 15TH

  • Come check out a new library (for me)
  • I share excerpts from my two books
    • Believe
    • Learn to Dream
  • “And you better start swimmin’ Or you’ll sink like a stone For the times they are a-changin’” – Bob Dylan
    • We have to start going with the flow.
    • We should not dwell so much on the negatives in the world even though there is a lot of it.
    • Focusing on the negative will sink us like a stone.
    • What we focus our attention on is what we get more of.
    • We have to focus on connection—that’s how we will start to heal in this broken world.
