THIS WEEK AT THE ORNELIAN (8/1/25)

Thanks for being here!

These are my updates for the week across all the branches of The Ornelian: Grounded Spirits, ILA Institute, PubLish, and Belasprii.

This week was challenged because my editing software was acting up (thanks Mercury in Retrograde) so it was super difficult to get out all the content this week, but I perservered and still put out four YouTube videos. However, ILA Radio did not have an episode out this week.

Btw I truly mean thanks to Mercury in Retrograde because it forces us to take a step back and re-evaluate how and what we are communicating and gives us an opportunity to understand how our minds work.

🌐 THE ORNELIAN

The last two weeks I have found and created (using AI) trees that have four prominent branches.
- Turns out, there was a tree that I sit under regularly at one of my favorite parks!
  - It’s the cover photo!
  - When I walked around the tree, I found that there was a branch that had been cut off.
    - This represents @itslauraalyn
      - Sometimes I get so caught up in the four companies that make up The Ornelian, that I forget to ever post on my personal account.
      - I rarely post on Instagram,
      - I don’t even have a YouTube channel, even though I use this account the most,
      - The most followers I have on any one account is 2k and it’s on my @itslauraalyn TikTok account
    - Tbh, I’m not really sure what this all means. Should I interact with @itslauraalyn more or is The Ornelian as a whole an @itslauraalyn substitute?
      - When I first created this username, I was newly married.
      - I really struggled figuring out if I was going to take my husband’s last name “Ornelas” or keep my father’s last name “De La Torre.”
      - In an act of rebellion, I decided I wasn’t going to identify with either and just be Laura Alyn.
        
        Alyn is my middle name (pronounced like Uh-Lynn)
    - Was seeing that tree a sign that it’s time to retire @itslauraalyn? Maybe or maybe it was a sign to include @itslauraalyn as The Ornelian’s foundation.
      - In next week’s Grounded Spirits episode, I identify each branch with its respective company.

🎙 GROUNDED SPIRITS

Still no progress posting clips from this week’s GS episode on IG and TikTok…
I’m loving every aspect of Grounded Spirits at the moment. I love recording. I love editing. I have a lot of fun.
- My only draw back is understanding my limitations with posting about my avid cannabis use.
- But then I think, if I’m not posting about how I consume her then how will she ever be destigmatized?
- I did cut out a lot from this video but at least I kept in a lot too.

🌀 ILA INSTITUTE

No new episode this week, but one will definitely come out next week.
- We have 3 more episodes with guests and then one solo season finale
  - I’m super excited for it because I am going to go over how to analyze data and how to draw conclusions from it. This will also give us a better understanding on how intuition is viewed in the public sphere (as well as nature, AI, education, etc..).
  - ALSO BIG NEWS I have been working on The Ornelian Framework for almost two years and it is finally finished!!
